Did you know!
Forty six years ago all holiday basketball tournaments in 1973 and regular season games scheduled for January 4-5, 1974 were cancelled by the state high school league and state department of education in a move to conserve energy. Games cancelled in the Tomahawk Conference included Gibbon at Fairfax and Sleepy Eye at Wabasso. Springfield (not a conference member at that time) had a game cancelled at Madelia.
About Us
The Tomahawk Conference began in 1944, when 7 schools-Gaylord, Morton, Morgan, Franklin, Fairfax, Gibbon, and Winthrop-formed a basketball league designed to add interest to the regular season play.  The Tomahawk Conference now has Cross-Country, Volleyball, Boys and Girls Basketball, Baseball, Boys and Girls Golf, Softball, and Boys and Girls Track and Field.  The Tomahawk Conference also includes Knowledge Bowl as one of its activities!
